[review] Noir (Nowâru)

Definitely recommended.

Set in France, two assassins work together under the name “Noir” [French: black] as bounty hunters. The first on Bee Train’s trilogy (as of now) going along with the “Girls-with-Guns” theme, this series is definitely a must-see; I’d go so far as to call it canon in the anime world.

It’s difficult to write this review without spoiling anything, and spoilers in this particular anime are killer. With each episode, our protagonists find some adventure to deal with, from following a bounty lead to following ancient history, being stalked by an organization known as “Les Soldats” [French: “the soldiers”]…

[Review] Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Genres: Military, Drama, Supernatural, Mecha.

In the year 2011, the Holy Empire of Britannia invaded Japan. They defeated the Japanese government with new humanoid machines, the Knightmare frames, and renamed the country of Japan to “Area 11″. The citizens were stripped of country, citizenship, rights, and even their own name…

They were now the “Elevens”.

Lelouch Lamperouge, a Britannian student at Ashford Academy, lives in Area 11. One day, after winning a chess match, he and his friend Rivalz spot a speeding truck fleeing from the police. It crashes into a wall. Lelouch goes after the truck to help whomever may be inside, only to get stuck in its cargo hold. There is an interesting device inside the truck, and inside is a girl, who has the ability to grant mysterious powers…

Who is this girl, known only as C.C.? Who really is Lelouch?

End plot.
